Effective May 1, 2023; BMVFD Earns Better ISO Rating of 4!

Recently, the Beech Mountain Volunteer Fire Department completed its 5-year ISO Insurance Inspection by the NC State Fire Marshall.  The department went from a rating of Class 5 to Class 4, with 1 being the highest.  This is good news for the community.  Insurance companies use the rating to help set property insurance rates and thus the improved rating will lead to lower annual fire insurance premiums.

“We are one of the only volunteer fire departments in the state with a low rating of 4,” remarked Town Manager and Fire Chief Pudney.  “I want to thank and congratulate all the individuals that helped make this happen.”
