May 6th is “National Wildfire Community Preparedness Day”
The National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) started the Wildfire Community Preparedness Day to encourage people and organizations to take action by raising wildfire safety awareness, reducing wildfire risks and helping individuals and active fire communities learn how to best prepare their homes for wildfires. According to the U.S. Forest Service, less than 10% of communities at risk from wildfire have developed a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). Save the date of May 7th to prepare and make your home safe for wildfires.
